To build world where no one feels alone.
Over the past two decades, billions of people have come online. But instead of feeling more connected, many of us have retreated into digital silos, becoming paradoxically lonelier than before.
Teracy helps people reconnect through quiet, effortless presence.
No pressure to talk. We’re building a platform that enables you to feel that someone’s there, so that you will never feel alone ever again.

Our Rooted Conviction
No one’s potential should be bound by where they live.
In 2016, our founder Emo set off to travel the world alone. He visited over 20 countries—not to escape, but to explore a simple question: Does where you live define your chances in life?
Over a few months, he met a diverse set of people, from a student in the Philippines teaching English for $1.50/hour to a young man in India living in a slum with no way out.
Traveling the world was a bucket-list dream of his. But months into his adventure, Emo began to struggle with social anxiety and the loneliness of solo travel.

The Idea That Sparked Teracy
Using Technology to Rebuild Connection and Ease Loneliness
One day, while working from a small room abroad, he opened his laptop and connected with a friend on Skype. They didn’t talk much. In fact, they just sat there, working quietly with only a few words said between them.
Yet that moment changed everything.
Just being online together—present, even in silence—made him feel less alone.
That moment became the seed for Teracy.
He thought to himself: “What if more people could feel connected this way?”

Not Another Chat App
—A New Kind of Presence
The Counterintuitive Promise of “Connected”
Over the years, that idea kept growing.
Emo realized that most communication tools are built for action: talking, messaging, calling.
But what people often crave is quieter: just knowing someone’s there.
With the help of early backers and the character-building process of multiple pivots, Teracy slowly took shape.

Our Mission Today
From “connecting” to simply “being there”
Teracy is not another communication tool.
We’re building something deeper. Internally, we call it a way to create a space where people can feel together.
Slack reinvented work communication.
Zoom transformed meetings.
Teracy aims to redefine what it means to be together online.
In a world that’s more connected than ever, yet lonelier than ever, we believe that presence—simple, quiet, human—is what’s missing.
And that’s what we’re building.
Together.
