2 a.m. The only light in my room was the blue glow of my PC monitor.
In the silence, only the sound of my keyboard echoed, and I felt like I was wandering alone through a maze with no exit.
This is the story of how I found a single light called “Teracy” and joined it.

Scattered Lights, and Heat That Doesn’t Reach

I’m 23. I graduated from university and am currently on leave from graduate school.
In 2024, through the J‑StarX program, I visited Stanford University to learn how to start a venture, and from there until the summer of 2025, I tried to build a business entirely on my own.
What I had in my hands were both the joy that came from small steps forward and the loneliness that matched it.

Until the summer of 2025, I was trying to start a business all by myself. It wasn’t that I didn’t have peers who were also pushing themselves. Open social media and I saw people sprinting toward starting companies, others burning themselves up chasing top graduate programs.
Like stars in the night sky, they were each shining in their own places.

But I was isolated.

I could see their efforts, for sure.
But their “heat” never reached me.

What expression do they wear as they face their screens right now?
How much conflict do they carry, and how hard do they grit their teeth to move forward anyway?
Their breath, their trembling hearts—none of it reaches the room where I am.

They should be right there, and yet I can’t touch their presence.
It felt like staring at a distant city’s nightscape through thick glass.

I think that was the true shape of the “isolation” I felt.

“Would I be a bother?”

Every time I tried to understand their heat, every time I tried to speak up, I was blocked by an invisible wall.
The act of “asking someone for advice” itself felt as heavy as lead.

I’ve never been great at interpersonal communication, and even when I sought out experienced people, it never led to the next step. I’d draft and delete a single DM over and over, as time just slipped away.

“Are they busy right now?”
“Is this kind of basic question a nuisance?”
“If I’m stuck on this, maybe it’s a wall I should solve on my own.”

The blinking cursor on my screen reflected my hesitation.
That wall called consideration was so cold and tall, it froze any cry for help.

A Lit Window Found in the Dark

That’s when I encountered Teracy.
It felt like suddenly spotting the warm light of a window in a small house
while walking down a pitch‑dark road.

The logic is astonishingly simple.
Just being there.
That was everything.

What I felt in that lit place was more than mere “presence.”

There, you can feel who is facing this moment, and with how much heat.
Their effort reaches you in real time.

The stars that had seemed distant in the night sky turned into a tangible “heat” that reached me.
Their hardship, their living breath.
And at the same time, maybe my own heat was reaching someone, too.

When you set out to accomplish something, when you aim to deliver outsized results,
“being alone” is unavoidable.

Time to focus alone and dive deep is absolutely necessary.
But what should be there is not an isolation cut off from others.

Teracy pulled me out of that cold “isolation” and became a place that permits a warm kind of “alone.”

Just by being there, just by existing, we can connect.
I felt that thick, cold wall that bound me crumble with a sound.

This is it, I thought from the bottom of my heart.

Why I’m Here

I want to deliver this feeling to someone who surely feels the same. That’s what I strongly felt.

When you receive something, there are definitely others in the world who feel it too.
There must be people who haven’t noticed that warmth yet, who don’t know a solution.

If I spend my time, I can convey, spread, and deepen this feeling. I became certain of that.

Of course, if I could join the Teracy team and work to spread it, that would be the fastest and most complete way.

But even if I couldn’t join the Teracy team, that would be okay.

By using Teracy, helping someone here, sharing heat, and bringing people in through social media, I could deliver a “new shape of being alone” to those like my former self. That’s what I thought.

Then, while scrolling X, a post jumped out—Teracy was recruiting a designer.

The moment I saw it, I sent a DM to Emo, the founder, without a second thought.

“I don’t have experience as a designer. But I used to post Reels, and I’ve sold illustrations before. My English is…”
I pulled together every scrap of experience I could and somehow secured an interview for the next day.

“If you have experience with Figma, please bring some work.”

When he said that, the blood drained from my face.
I’d never used it once lol
Designing before building? I’d never done that.
I was always the type to start from code.

But at the same time, my heart ignited.
“This is my chance to make a case,” I thought.

I got the DM around 10 p.m. From then until 5 a.m., I immersed myself in Figma and created the best thing I could.

In the end, the interview conversation flowed, and there was no chance to show the work. But I believe my enthusiasm reached him.

To You, Reading This

Teracy solves the primal sadness of “isolation” in a new and forward‑looking way. I believe that.
At 23, there’s definitely value in devoting a part of your life to this service.
I made that call, and now I’m here. I’ve also found the joy of working with teammates.

If you feel:

“I want to work hard together, but there’s no one.”
“I want to move forward while feeling someone’s heat.”
“It doesn’t have to be heat—just someone’s warmth.”

Then please step into the world of Teracy, even once.

We’re always ready to support you.
